Quiet days

First vaccine dose accomplished with minimal side effects! What are we doing while we wait four weeks for the second dose?

Every morning starts with John making coffee and a fire to warm up the cabin.

Then we hang out and watch the mountains outside the picture window for the appearance of the elk coming down from the trees to graze on the hillside. They have breakfast around 7:30 each morning.

After our morning chat and wildlife viewing, John sequesters himself in his home office for hours of Zoom meetings, with occasional breaks to eat and drink more coffee.  While he's all professional, I'm learning to draw and paint with online instruction through Saddleback College.

In my portraiture class, we're learning construction of the head and tonal plans.

It's been snowing on and off since we arrived, but we get outside for a walk every day.

The snow is pretty deep down by the river.

Then it's back to the cabin to read a book, cook dinner, videochat with "the kids," watch movies and hang out. Relax, rest and repeat. No complaints about this phase of quarantine. Happy Passover and Easter, everyone. Looking forward to being together again soon. xo

Spring time is fun time

April is not the cruelest month this year. In fact, it's been filled with great writing days, sunny weather, time with friends and natur...
